We survived
Had a fun mini weekend with Griffin in the cities while gramma and grampa watched Ian. Took in the Como Zoo, Minnesota Zoo, Underwater Adventures, Mall of America (very briefly), Albertville, and lots of time visiting Chad, Becca and Grace. Griffin struggled on the way home asking how much longer I think the entire time and boy was Ian glad to see us when we made it back. Thanks gramma and gramps for taking Ian so we got some special time with our big guy.

Happy Birthday Casey!

Thanks for the million laughs! This was definitely the most fun Gus and I have had out with friends in so super long! Yes, that's right I am singing karaoke. Warming up for New Kids you know. This little number we were performing was Hangin' Tough. Sorry you missed it but I am sure this might just happen again sometime and I will be much more experienced with the mic! Thanks again for the wonderful night out!
Magic cape
Gramma Kathy found some fabric scraps and hired Auntie Schtucca to create something. Here is the beloved cape. He loves it and sometimes refuses to take it of. I know it looks kinda funny to see him wandering through pet stores and McDonalds Playland with it but we got lots of looks from other parents saying "been there."

We are such suckers

As many of you know I am a super bargain shopper, rummage saler, thift store shopper. Well this weekend we took the boys to Sams and while browsing Griffin spotted some giant stuff animals. He immediately fell in love this an enourmous lion. After he held it and cuddled it a bit we told him it was time to put him back. He reacted like his world was turned upside down. I can honestly say this is the first melt down in a store for a toy. While he was crying with alligator tears streaming down his face he was saying things like "he doesn't want to go back in the box, he wants a family" and "remember that book where the bears wanted someone to love them." So here were are with something that we really didn't need or want.

What mom?

We went to a picnic of some friends this weekend and within minutes we didn't spot Griffin on the playground. When we turned around we saw some girls having a birthday party with a pinata. Griffin stood right there with all of them diving for candy for at least 5 minutes without anyone saying anything like "who are you" or "no boys allowed." We just couldn't stand it anymore and called him back to us. Here is is saying "what mom, I was just at some girls birthday party." We thought this was so cute and what nice girls for allowing him to bogart their candy without saying a thing.

From a 4 yr old
Griffin had a little tougher day today at school. Nothing major at all but when I asked him how his day was he said he was "kinda bad." When I asked him what happened he said his "listening ears were not working well" today. He admitted that he was in trouble for throwing some toys and for having too much energy with another boy in class. When I told him that he has to work on making the right decisions, he said "well I tell myself don't do that Griffin but my body won't listen and it makes me do naughty things sometimes." How can you get mad at that?

Thanks Nelsons!

Had a fun night with some friends this week. Griffin and "T" are 3 weeks apart and Ian and "T" are just one yr apart. Thanks for the great food and fun!
These friends of ours are kind of a unique situation. The mother of these 2 cuties is a friend I had when I was very, very young. Her mom and my mom grew up together and were best friends. Now that we moved to Fargo our moms have been trying to get us to get together again. Ended up they lived just a few short blocks from us (they recently moved to a different development in Fargo) but now we have been getting together regularly. Of course the grandmas are already plotting how little "T" and Ian will end up marrying. We'll see. This evening they were feeding each other so it may be love at first sight.
